Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Perhaps the most anticipated video game of 2011, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 did not disappoint me. Just like the previous Call of Duty games, the overall experience of playing the game is a ton of fun. So many aspects contribute to what makes the game great. Aside from the in depth story line in campaign mode and wide selection of weaponry, the technology involved in making Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is what makes it so special. Even though people claim that this Call of Duty is hardly different from the other ones, I disagree. I can clearly see the graphic refinements through each part of the series and the newest one has stellar graphics. The constant refinement of the CoD series graphics has given this new game a life-like nature. The buildings, trees, cars, and other things in the game landscape all look extremely realistic. Then consider the fact that the game speed is about 60 frames per second, which is about as fast as video games can run. This allows for minimal lag in gameplay which is impressive considering the high quality graphics and the amount of stuff all going on at once. I was also impressed with the artificial intelligence. Killing enemies was no easy task, especially on the higher difficulties. Another aspect I enjoyed was the easy game controls. They are the same as they have been throughout the series, and if you are new to the game the menu clearly displays the controls and they are easy to learn. After a short time playing the game, they begin to feel natural and make the game easier. The one thing I don’t like about the game is how linear the campaign is. You don’t have the ability to interact with the things around you and if you shoot a sidewalk, for example, there is no damage done. The makers of the game could definitely make some improvements to the game environment and make it more interactive. The restrictions on what you can and cannot do make the game a little repetitive at times. Despite this, the game is definitely worth playing. The great graphics, game landscape, easy controls, and artificial intelligence all contribute to making Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 a great game. I would definitely recommend the game to anybody.
